IKENGA DAY

Ikenga Day is a dedicated tribute to the ancient African principle of the “Right Hand”, a celebration of personal agency, hard work, and the indomitable human spirit. It is a time for the community to gather,and honor the drive that allows us to overcome obstacles and build a lasting legacy.

Ikenga Day 2025

Aligning with the broader theme of sovereignty, this year celebrated the Ikenga as a symbol of self-determination. It highlighted the power of the individual to shape their own destiny without external validation.

Ikenga Day 2024

Focused on passing the Ikenga values to African youth. The event blended traditional storytelling with modern career coaching, showing how ancestral values apply to 21st-century professional goals.

Ikenga Day 2023

A practical look at the Ikenga as a symbol of entrepreneurship. The event featured workshops for SMEs and students on using determination and strategic “effort” to build sustainable businesses.

Ikenga Day 2022

This edition explored how the Ikenga spirit helps individuals lead their communities. Discussions centered on how personal accountability (the “Right Hand”) leads to stronger collective growth for the diaspora.
